FCC certification
What is FCC certification?
The full name of the FCC is the Federal Communications Commission, Chinese for the United States Federal Communications Commission. Established in 1934 by the Communications Act, it is an independent agency of the United States government, directly accountable to Congress. The FCC coordinates national and international communications by controlling radio, television, telecommunications, satellites and cables. Involving more than 50 states, Columbia and the United States to ensure the safety of radio and wire communication products related to life and property, the FCC's Office of Engineering and Technology is responsible for the technical support of the Commission and is responsible for equipment approval. Many radio application products, communications products and digital products to enter the U.S. market, all require FCC approval. The FCC Commission investigates and studies the various stages of product safety to find the best way to solve the problem, and the FCC also includes the detection of radio devices, aircraft, and so on.

FCC Certification Types
self-verification
Manufacturers or importers ensure that their products have been tested as necessary to confirm that the products comply with relevant technical standards and retain test reports, and the FCC has the authority to require manufacturers to submit test data for equipment samples or products. Devices applicable to self-verification include commercial computers, TV and FM receivers, and industrial, scientific, and medical devices used by non-mass consumers under FCC Rule Part 18.
Declaration of conformity
The responsible party of the equipment (generally the manufacturer or importer) tests the product in the qualified testing institution designated by the FCC to ensure that the equipment meets the relevant technical standards and retains the test report, and the FCC has the right to require the responsible party to submit the test data of the sample of the equipment or the product. Equipment subject to the declaration of conformity includes home computers and peripherals, civil broadcast receivers, superregenerative receivers, other receivers of FCC RulePart 15, television interface equipment, cable system terminal equipment, and industrial research and medical equipment used by mass consumers under Part 18.
ID authentication
The FCC reviews the samples (or photos) and test data submitted by the applicant and authorizes an FCC ID number for the device if it meets the requirements of the FCC rules. Equipment applicable for certification includes low-voltage transmitters such as cordless telephones, remote controls for automatic doors, radio-controlled toys and security alarm systems, Part 15 devices that intentionally emit radio-frequency energy, Part 18 industrial, scientific and medical devices used by mass consumers, automatic frequency conversion receivers and superregenerative receivers, television interface devices, and other devices that are used by the general public. And home computers and their peripherals. The responsible party shall have the equipment marked with an FCC ID:
Note: If a device is suitable for two or three approved categories, it is chosen by the responsible party.
FCC Certification Process
I. Declaration of conformity
The product responsible party (manufacturer or importer) will test the product in the FCC-designated qualified testing institution and make a test report. If the product meets the FCC standard, it will attach the corresponding label on the product, declare in the user manual that it meets the FCC standard, and retain the test report for FCC requirements.
2. Apply for an ID
Apply for an FRN to fill out the other forms. If you are applying for an FCC ID for the first time, you will need to apply for a permanent Grantee Code. While waiting for FCC approval to distribute the Grantee Code to the applicant, the applicant should take the time to have the device tested. The FCC should have approved the Grantee Code when all FCC required submissions are ready and the inspection report is completed. The applicant uses this Code, test report, and required materials to complete FCC Form 731 and Form 159 online. Once the FCC receives the Form 159 and the remittance, the application for certification begins. The average time it takes the FCC to process an ID application is 60 days. At the end of the process, the FCC will send the Original Grant of the FCC ID to the applicant. After receiving the certificate, the applicant can sell or export the corresponding products.

Certification
Most are used for general radio product applications. The experimental report must be reviewed by the FCC committee personnel and issued with an accreditation certificate after approval.
DoC
This kind of application products are mainly for IT products and peripheral auxiliary equipment. There is no need for FCC commission personnel to review test reports, and manufacturers can use self-certification. The self-certified test report must be issued by a laboratory accredited to the NVLAP standard. FCC Class A products can be self-certified and the application process does not need to be reviewed by the FCC Commission.
Please contact the Product Safety Department for specific charges.
FCC-FRN registration
Businesses applying for FCC-ID number certification for the first time, need to register FCC-FRN in the FCC to establish the application company file can be FCC-ID declaration. All the reports are reviewed by the FCC-TCB agency, and the reports are submitted to the FCC Management Center for publication on the website, and then the product information can be found on the FCC official website through the ID number, and all the applied products can be found through the FRN number.
FCC-ID is the product number and FCC-FRN is the enterprise number
Information required for FCC certification
All communication electronics products entering the United States need to undergo FCC certification, that is, through the laboratory directly or indirectly authorized by the FCC in accordance with FCC technical standards for testing and approval.
Basic requirements for application
FCC requirements for wireless communication products are mainly included in Parts 2 and 24 of CFRTitle47, while personal communication service (PCS) related equipment working in the 1920MHz-1930MHz band is stipulated in subpartD of Part15. Other relevant information such as cost requirements, administrative requirements, etc. are described in Parts 0 and 1.
Basic application information
The basic information that the applicant needs to prepare mainly includes three types: basic information of the applicant and the applied product, product specifications and certification information. The applicant must answer the relevant questions clearly and clearly, and the content that is not within the scope of the application should be clearly marked. Basic information is submitted to the FCC via the Internet in the form of electronic documents.
This information includes the following:
(1) The basic information of the applicant, such as the complete legal person name, FCC registration code, correspondence address, contact information, etc. For applicants from countries or regions outside the United States, they can directly obtain product authorization from the FCC, or they can designate an agent in the United States to obtain product authorization. The contacts that the FCC requires applicants to provide are divided into technical contacts and non-technical contacts such as legal and economic contacts.
(2) Applicant code and product code.
(3) Confidential information, that is, to determine whether the information involved in the application has confidentiality requirements. If confidentiality is not required, other people can also see the relevant information in the application, which may sometimes lead to the leakage of critical product information. Therefore, from the consideration of the applicant's request for technical confidentiality, the FCC allows the applicant to propose a request for the confidentiality of some or all information.
(4) Delay the release of product authorization information, that is, determine whether the product authorization needs to be delayed. For certain reasons (such as confidentiality, etc.), the applicant may choose a product authorization effective date, until which date all application information will be kept confidential.
(5) Determine the category of products to be applied. For wireless communication products, generally belong to PCB, PCE or PUB, etc., depending on the specific product.
(6) Specify the type of application. The application can be for a new product. It can also be a FCCID, Class II or Class III change request for an already licensed product.
(7) For composite products and products that are part of other complex systems, other relevant certification requirements in addition to this application need to be determined.
(8) Provide information about the test laboratory. The FCC website lists the names of all laboratories with FCC testing qualifications, so applicants can only provide one of the testing laboratories on the form.
