"SA8000"; is the English abbreviation of Social Accountability 8000 International standard, which is the first international standard of ethics in the world. Its purpose is to ensure that the products supplied by suppliers meet the requirements of social responsibility standards. The SA8000 standard is applicable to companies of all sizes, in any industry, anywhere in the world. Like the ISO9000 quality management system and the ISO14000 environmental management system, it is based on a set of international standards that can be audited by third-party certification bodies. Main contents of SA8000 certification


(1) Child labor. The Company shall not use or support the use of child Labour and shall take the necessary measures with other persons or interest groups to ensure the education of children and young people who are required to attend local compulsory education and shall not place them in unsafe or unhealthy working environments or conditions;

(2) Forced labor. The company shall not use or support the use of forced labor, nor shall it require employees to pay a "deposit" or deposit identification documents at the beginning of employment;

(3) Health and safety. The company shall have the knowledge to avoid various industrial and specific hazards, provide employees with a healthy and safe working environment, take adequate measures to minimize hazards at work and prevent accidents or injuries as far as possible; Provide a safe and hygienic living environment for all employees, including clean bathrooms, toilets, and potable water; Clean and safe accommodation; Hygienic food storage facilities, etc.;

(4) Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining. The Company shall respect the right of all employees to freely form and join unions and to bargain collectively;

The Company shall comply with applicable laws and industry standards regarding working hours, the standard working week shall not regularly exceed 48 hours, and employees shall have at least one day off every seven days. All overtime work shall be paid as an additional allowance and in no case shall the overtime work exceed 12 hours per week per employee and all overtime work must be voluntary;

(8) Wages and compensation. The wages paid by the company to the employee shall not be lower than the legal or industry minimum standards, and must be sufficient to meet the basic needs of the employee, as well as provide some discretionary income and be paid in a form convenient to the employee such as cash and checks; The deduction of wages shall not be punitive and shall ensure that the composition of wages and benefits is clearly and in detail to employees on a regular basis; It shall ensure that contractual arrangements of a purely Labour nature or a false apprenticeship system are not adopted to circumvent its obligations to employees under the relevant law;

(9) Management system. What are the requirements for SA8000 certification?



1. Prove that your company complies with national and local laws and regulations; Self-test the company against SA8000 regulations; Application process within one year.

2. Once the evaluation agency accepts your application, you become a SA8000 applicant.

5. Prepare to enter the demonstration evaluation after the prediction is passed.

6. A specially trained local evaluation team will come to your factory. They know the local laws, the society, and speak the same language as your managers and workers. You will provide a full history of the plant, the evaluators will be free to talk to employees, and you will be given the opportunity to remedy any aspects of plant operations that need improvement.

7. After the evaluation team confirms that your factory fully meets the standards, it will issue SA8000 certificate. The certificate is valid for 3 years and will be reviewed every 6 months. An extension is required every 3 years.


SA8000 certification process


The same as ISO9000 quality system, ISO14000 environmental system and OHASl8000 safety system certification, SA8000 social responsibility management system certification process roughly includes the following steps:

1. The company submits the application. When the company completes the preparation work and basically meets the certification conditions, it can submit an application to the certification body, or it can submit an application in advance and prepare under the guidance of the certification body.

2. Review and acceptance. The certification body reviews the application submitted by the company, reviews whether its content meets the basic conditions of certification, if it meets the acceptance, if it does not meet the notification of the company is not accepted.

3. First visit. The social responsibility management system attaches great importance to on-site performance, and it is necessary to visit the audited party before the audit. The purpose of the initial visit is to determine the scope of the audit, understand the current situation of the company, collect relevant information and determine the audit workload.

4. Sign the contract. The certification body and the client may sign a contract on the scope of audit, audit criteria, audit report content, audit time, audit workload, determine the formal cooperation relationship, and pay the application fee.

5. Submit documents. After signing the contract, the audited party shall provide the social responsibility management manual, procedure documents and relevant background materials to the certification body for pre-examination of documents.

6. Form an audit team. After signing the contract, the certification body shall designate the audit leader, form the audit team, and begin the preparation work.

7. Pre-examination of documents. The audit team leader shall organize members of the audit team to pre-examine the documents. If there are major problems with the social responsibility management documents, the audited party or the entrusting party shall be notified, and the audited party shall modify and re-submit the documents. If there are no major issues with the document, preparation for formal review begins.

8. Audit preparation. The audit team leader shall organize the audit team members to formulate the audit plan, determine the audit scope and schedule, and prepare the on-site audit checklist.

9. Preliminary hearing. The entruster may consider it necessary to require the certification body to conduct a preliminary audit before the formal certification audit, so as to take timely corrective measures to ensure that the formal audit is passed.

10, certification audit. The certification body shall conduct certification audit on the audited party according to the audit plan.

11. Submit audit report and conclusion. According to the results of the audit, there may be three conclusions, namely, recommended registration, deferred registration and deferred registration.

12. Approved by the Technical Committee. For the company recommended by the audit team for registration, the technical committee of the certification body will examine whether the registration is approved or not, and if it is not approved, it will need to re-examine.

13. Approve registration. The certification body approves the registration of the approved company.

14. Issue certification certificate. Certification bodies issue SA8000 certification certificates to approved registered companies.

15. Certified company announcement. The certification body will file the certified company with SAI, which will publish it on its website.

16. Supervision and review. The certification body shall supervise and audit the certified company, supervise and audit once every six months, and the certification certificate shall be valid for three years, and it shall be re-evaluated after three years.
